Dear friend,

This being my inaugural post for my new 10 mindset blog, I wanted to share with you my personal journey to why I have created this blog just for you. So this blog post is kind of …. long. Hopefully it will captivate your attention, your mind and your heart and inspire you to live your life from your highest potential.

Every year at the beginning of the year, I sit down with a pad of paper and a pen and I play a little game with myself. I allow myself the freedom to take everything off the table in my life and put only the things back that truly make me happy. I am open to changing where I live, what I do, who I serve, what I wear, what I eat… you name it, I’m willing to give up anything that just doesn’t fit in my life anymore. I review every aspect of my life and decide what I want to keep, what I want to discard and what I want to change.

And I do this process from my heart and my soul with the requirement that what I keep in my life serves a deeper purpose. This year, while I was doing this annual exercise I struggled with an important category — my work. After 17 years working with entrepreneurs to help them build their business I wasn’t jumping to quickly put back into my life the business as it currently stood. There was turmoil inside that I needed to take a real look at.

And upon reflection I realized that something needed to change in what I was doing. Don’t get me wrong — I love helping people and have been fortunate to touch many lives for almost three decades in my work… and yet I wasn’t happy. I waited for that familiar voice I usually hear which guides me to my next work and was waiting instruction from the universe as to what I was supposed to do now.

My work as it stood no longer fit and I wasn’t sure what new direction I was supposed to go. So I sat and I listened confident I would get clear instruction on exactly what the new message I was supposed to deliver. And I got NO answer! That sucked. So I sat down the next day and meditated and listened again… and again I got silence. After several days of doing this with no clear direction I went to my journal hoping to get answers there and again I go no answer.

Normally at the beginning of the year I am planning my entire marketing strategy and have clarity on what new programs I want to introduce and this year all I could think to do was get quiet. And finally after several days… I got an answer! Eureka. The answer was to just serve. What? Serve ice cream? Serve tea? Nope… just serve. Ok.. so I’m playing on words… I knew what I was being told to do. Just serve. No worries about money or product launches or marketing plans or business strategies. The message from the top dog upstairs was to just serve and from there I would get the answers I seek and the new direction.

So that’s what I did… for three months. I spent three months talking to as many of my students as possible who were going through my current Outrageous Business Growth mindset program to see how I could serve them with no new program in mind to offer. I didn’t charge for these sessions. I didn’t sell them anything. All I asked was how could I help them reach their goals in 2011? All these conversations led me back to the same place — how to be a 10 mindset!

Let me digress for one minute… for the past 17 years as I listened to my clients and students talk about their business goals they also revealed their deepest fears to me. And these fears were clearly holding them back from getting the results they wanted. After working with so many entrepreneurs I identified very distinct patterns of thinking and behavior which indicated whether someone would really struggle in building their business or whether they would reach financial success quickly. And I created an assessment which lets me know which route you are headed for in building your business. One of struggle or one of ease.

And just by asking you two simple questions I can predict your success in the next 12 months. How much money do you want to make in the next 12 months? And what is your level of confidence between 1-10 that you will meet or exceed your 12 month income goal. 10 being you are 100% confident in your own success. Most entrepreneurs are between a 6 and an 8 in confidence. That costs you time, money, resources and your road to business success will be a struggle. People with a 10 mindset have a much different approach to life and are very conscious of setting their life up to BE successful no matter what goal they pursue.

So…. I was talking to my students and I found out that they had a desire to be a 10 and they new what confidence number they were now… usually a 7 or 8 and they had no idea the specific plan which took them there. So I found out that my students were investing in coaching programs, personal growth seminars, CD’s, private therapy just to get the answer to how to clean out the internal stuff they knew they had inside which prevented them from succeeding.

The big aha I got was that while there are so many personal growth programs in the marketplace, no one was offering a very specific step by step plan that was completely customized that showed you exactly what was holding you back, how to shift it and how to set your life up for success no matter your goal.

Finally after all these interviews the flood gates opened and that familiar internal voice I rely on so deeply who always gives me the right message to deliver chimed in once more with the perfect solution. I was given the Business Success Mindset Formula that is followed by EVERY single person who has created a very financially successful business.

So I introduced this formula plus the six principles that you must master to make sure this formula ALWAYS works. This formula works whether you want to make more money, lose weight, get greater confidence, the possibilities are endless. And I created a 10 mindset success blueprint that you could follow step by step to set your life up for success no matter your current circumstances.

For the last few months I’ve been teaching this material and working with a group of people to show them exactly how to identify what is holding them back and then the tools to dissolve those blocks and the results have been amazing.

One of my students has lost 45 pounds in a few months, another student released a lifetime of emotional pain stemming from a physically abusive childhood in less than 30 minutes, another person said she is working less hours and getting better results in her business with no stress.

I’m passionate about this subject because I’ve seen the results of what can happen when you finally get clarity and a plan to follow to set your life up for success.
